IIT ke RANGeele

(Note: This mail was composed on 2nd day of KD.)

Since yesterday, many thoughts are coming to my mind. I want to share with you all. May I?

I feel wonderful that I am a part of RANG.
I wish to start with the people of RANG team...

ROHAN
He was the first person who comes to my mind when I think of Rang. (But gradually my perception of RANG has changed, and it seems to me like a collage of so many people of Rang team.)
Do I have the freedom to list down the points?!
-He speaks gently, thoughtfully and smilingly ki koi bhi iski baat pyaar se sun lega yaar.
-I hardly saw him in nbd.
-He is a well organized person.

... and he dances well- just saw yesterday!

H-12 Art Exhbition would not have been what it was without his ideas. In my first discussion with him about exhibition, I discussed my ideas with him sitting in H-6 garden for nearly an hour. He helped on how to go about collecting the exhibits, arranging people to help execute. I remember he suggested to keep the date on the festive day of Dassera. He came to H-12 twice to see the venue, and helped plan out the venue decoration, publicity (the idea of scarecrow was his :)

GYANI (I call him Gyanu)
-I never felt he is INSTI-secy, he was always involved in DOING the work, ALONG with co-ordinating the events. He kindly accepted the late entries from h12 for KD.
-He has this excellent sense of humour. I can never forget our outing to Marine Drive.
-Modest banda hai - kal maine Gyani ko ek baar (jaldi mein) 'aap' kahke bulaya, he caught me! and asked me never say it again.

PONDI
-Earlier I used to think why everybody in Rang talks so much about Pondi (Pondi ko itna bhav kyon dete hain sab log?!) Gradually I came know he is THE Person. I learn from him - his expression of ideas when he talks, and his art work is outstanding.
-I came to know a lot more yesterday night when all of us were sharing our nostalgia.
Although I don't know him more than you guys, but I hope we'll keep in touch. I want to learn a lot from him.

SONI
Soni ke toh kya kehne. He gels with everyone so quickly - chahe freshie ho yaan PG.
I met him first at our outing to South Bombay. It was a memorable time spent.

TEJI & PRADY
Of course, can't separate them even while writing about them!
They exude excitement, and bring smile to everyone's face in the group.
Teji has that glint in her eyes like that of a child. Her rangolis are simply beautiful - the 3D rangoli of Aishwarya in last KD and of Shivaji this time are masterpieces.
Resilient: She was in tears when her POP-and-themocol artwork got into pieces after falling from wall. And after some time, we saw her singing out loud with Prady - famous the H-10 Marathi Idols.
Prady's eyes say it all. I don't know if she practices classical dance - the eyes of classical dancers are generally very beautiful.
And when she says : "Parate main nahin aa rahi hoon", it means woh NAHIN aane wali hai :P

SOHAM
Whatever you all guys may say, he is a nice person. He has his own way of thinking. Of course we all learn with time. And I see a lot for us to learn from him too - however for that we need to tune in to his frequency!

PARATE
It seemes to me that there are practically 2 Insti FA Secy's - Rohan and Parate. I can say for sure, whenever you need any info or have doubt about anything FA-related, and if Rohan's phone is busy (sometimes he gets really hooked up to his phone :P) then you can peacefully contact Parate.
His FA work is also awesome. I remember his GC painting where he used calligraphy pen nibs for his painting. Infi creativity hai yaar...
Parate rocks..

So many more people are integral parts of RANG team:
Nitin, Dev, Jitesh, Vaibhav, Aaquib, Gaurav, Shamit, Achin, Vikas, Radhika, Mugdha, Shahu

Radhika
I just observed only twice (correct me if I am wrong) that she has had power packed presence. She gets 'involved' in her FA-giri whenever she is there in the sessions. I think she's is a good time manager and given the opportunity she can lead very well. She is aware about her priorities. Her quick and clear talking is her asset.

Swarna
Another super-active member of Rang... found in every Rang event, doing FA-giri, orgainizing, and talking :P

Shahu
I believe he has done wonderful work all throughout; and is a down to earth person. Nice to have him as friend.

RANG
Rang mein kuchh hai yaar... woh kya kehta hai - jaadu hai.

I met Jango once, during our informal session at coffee shack. I could not believe he is alumnus. Koi alumnus apne group se itna connected rah sakta hai, that he comes all the way to insti for spending time with all - it was a pleasant surprise and very touching.

Listening to nostalgic moments yesterday (after enjoying the delicious chocolate cakes)... I can sure say Rang mein jaadu hai...

I came to know about more people yesterday - Shiksha, Pai D, Shintre, Malpani...

We saw tremendous enthu from freshies this time during KD preparation.

My life at IITB:
In my BTech days, did NO extra currics. Coming to IIT I have LIVED my college life. I am grateful.
-I was in H12 dance team Gyrations
-Represented my dept (EE) in Chess & Triathlon in PG sports.
-Had co-ordigiri stunts at an International conference (in IIT), and then at dept tech festival (Aagomani).
-Ran in marathons - Varsha Run and Mumbai Marathon.
-H-12 Art Exhibition is one event I got divine experience with.
-Photography is one thing I am developing my passion in.

Bus ab ek baat reh gai hai. Ek tamanna hai - papers publish karne ki. At the start of my MTech, I dreamed of publishing at least 5 papers at national/intl levels. I am yet to open my account! Pls pray for me..

Shukriya
Aapke apna Kishore...

P.S.:

APOLOGIES
-I had this differentiation in mind between RANG & PIXELS. I feel extremely sorry especially to Gyani.
I thought over this and this is what came to me: In FA events, we all used to gather at a place (hostel canteens, or shack..) while Photography GC's had entries to be e-mailed - although we had couple of group sessions (one of them at lake side) but it had remained an activity at individual level. I agree that even FA is actually very much individual but there have been enough group sessions. Any ways it does not make a difference if we all meet - be it FA or photography.
And in any case, I stand corrected.
Once again, Gyani, pls pardon me.

-Apologies to many people I have missed above.

Yesterday you gave me the gift of paint brush and color. I don't do painting, but have enthu. I'll start with this gift of RANG to me. I observed that the color given to me is GOLD - and we know gold represents permanance... I pray that I am connected to RANG from heart forever.

Thank you all..
